The Mermaids Singing

I found this book very good, but a bit violent. I suppose it all reinforces the idea that you can't catch a criminal without getting inside his mind.
Tony Hill is a psychologist. Carol Jordan is a cop. They work together to profile a serial killer. But Tony Hill has his own problems, and suddenly this becomes less of a paper exercise and more a struggle for life.
A fascinating insight into the process of criminal profiling. Also apparently a TV series, but I didn't see it. I'd be interested to hear how it compares if anyone who reads this has seen the series.
