After a long break got back to my favorite 2nd-hand books' source. This one looked very promising and has not disappointed me with a narration of very different rhythms and paces.
The story launches itself in a Texas' town full of good ole boys that is going through an aftermaths of the school massacre. Despite rather tragic topic, the author has this sarcastic touch to the story:
'Vernon, are you all right?"At some point the story even reminded me of Extremely Loud, Incredibly Close by Foer with similar pattern of a young soul learning to cope with death and life after it.
'I guess so,' I say. That's what you say around here if you mean 'No'.
'Well, if you are sure-I only want you to be happy.' That's what you say around here if you mean 'Tough shit'.
