I read Butler's book 'They Whisper' and enjoyed that one a lot more. It had a nice, consistant erotic mood. Unfortunately it had the same pitfalls that made it impossible for me to read 'The Alleys Of Eden;' unrelenting focus on the minutea of the main character's thoughts and feelings and little pains and great pains and and And nothing happens but this for chapters! It got too tedious for me to continue so I'm setting the thing free for others to enjoy.
