Thank you so much, shaunesay :) I didn't know you've sent it already, it was a great surprise to find it in a mailbox today. Thank you :)
*perhaps slightly spoilerish review*
The author had some good ideas and obviously an ability to write something more substantial. Unfortunately, she seems to have chosen to put some potentially great parts of the story aside and only wrote bare minimum to create a setting for the romantic relationship between two main characters. And not great characters at all. Both them, and their relationship, are extremely stereotypical and one-dimensional. The hero doesn't change at all throughout the book, because apparently he is already perfect, being handsome, rich and a prince, with a very patronizing attitude towards women. She, however, does change, or in author's own words "finds herself", after an eventful journey. This great change is represented in the fact that almost overnight she has developed a sense of style and fashion and has become one of the most popular ladies in the Court. And she also bags a husband, of course. Throughout the book we are reminded just how manly and womanly the two of them are. Makes you wonder.
Still, the book is not all that bad. It is a fun, easy and fast read, suitable for a beach vacation, but nothing more than that.
Thank you Shaunesay for sharing it. I have some plans for the book and will pass it on :)
