Death Benefits

Thomas Perry is the author of "The Butcher's Boy", a truly great suspense novel. This effort, "Death Benefits", however, is a tad inplausible... to say the least. Following a promising beginning, the opening to the rabbit hole widens cavernously. But, it is better for you to be the judge. So, this book is destined for release soon. Let us know what you think.
The set-up is described in this partial quote from Amazon.com: "John Walker, who works for McClaren Life and Casualty, gets more than he bargained for when he is asked to investigate a large death benefit paid out to the wrong person."

Not a bad book starts well and develops OK but the ending is a bit over the top.
