Journal Entry 2 by Mothercat from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Wednesday, June 11, 2003
Um, yes, well this book (and the 2 others with it) was overlooked at the Meetup at The Boardroom on Tuesday 10 June, but was delivered to me the next day by my son who works there ... and I couldn't resist the opportunity to add a few words after KiwiKat's initial contribution - two cats are better than one, you know what I mean?

Anyway, all three books have now been delivered to FutureCat, who's in charge of this book box going to Palmerston North - so chances are that before the book gets out of Christchurch, it may well end up being a case of THREE cats are better than one ;-))

KiwiKat, thank you for the opportunity to contribute to this BookCrossers' Diary, and I hope you don't mind it being hijacked en route to Palmerston North!

Journal Entry 3 by futurecat from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Thursday, June 12, 2003
This cat also couldn't resist adding her own entry to the journal, and I'm hoping a couple of other bookcrossers (not cats, unfortunately) might add a word or two too before it heads north.

Hello world ... back again. As I sit here writing this, I am listening to "Blood Outta Stone" by The Fall. Who you say? Exactly! Anyway ... where am I? Oh yeah, just wanted to say that I was roped into writing something for this wee journal-diary-thing so don't blame me. I am innocent of all charges, m'lud. Don't think too badly of me (deja-vu?) when in forty years time you are still having nightmares about the commas. What are you talking about?, I hear you ponder whilst tucking into your or somebody elses muesli at 6 o'clock in the morgen. Exactly ... ooo ... Christianity by The Wolfgang Press has just come on ... got to go.

Journal Entry 5 by WhiteRabbit from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Sunday, August 3, 2003
Words really do have meaning. What a wonderful gift to receive. Even though this book has not yet travelled the seven seas, it's already rich with life. I thank all those before me, and those after me, whom help write our book of life. Together we read *us*. Isn't that awesome! :-)

Journey well my fair friend. Embrace the wind on your face. May your voyage be a safe one and come home with tales to tell of far away places.

Journal Entry 6 by ORNOT from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Tuesday, August 5, 2003
Received: one Bookcrosser's Diary, with several Bookcrossers' entries, on Monday 4th of August.

Now I've got you me beauty! Har har har, shiver me timbers! Walk the gangplank, roast the parrot.

Had a brief look, and there's a picture of Bob... what's his last name? Charles? Hope? Jones - no, he's Sir Robert now. Now that the former Sir Robert is long gone.

Anyone not of Kiwi origin will be scratching their heads at this point. Probably something in the air, like GE contaminated pollen. Don't worry Kiwis, we aren't missing out - we'll have it soon. Thank you Monsanto!

Will do my best to carry on the venerable tradition that is this diary, and then fob it off onto Blue183 - which is rather fitting, since I'm from Marlborough originally.

Journal Entry 7 by ORNOT from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Sunday, September 21, 2003
It's not my fault. It's life. And it's not how I know it, or used to know it.

You see, it's like this, I got busy, and lost the internet - should anyone find it please return to: Walter Mengeles,
Apartment 12,
3772 Wilma Huxtable Strasse,
Croutch,
Vilnias, 8772,
Venezuala.

Where was I? Oh yes.

There was a play, and a death, and another play, and a controversial photo in the local newspaper. I'm still receiving death threats. So, with all that, it took a while to get to writing anything in this journal.

I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise for my handwriting, and lack of inspiration - a state of affairs that is continuing. Like France.

PS. There may be a mp3 thingy added to this or a future entry to explain Mr Ploppy.

I am now sending this journal on. Tomorrow. Probably. Depending on the daffodils.

Journal Entry 8 by Blue183 from Brisbane, Queensland Australia on Wednesday, September 24, 2003
Received today in the mail, I won't be able to make my contribution straight away, as today I am leaving for my holiday :) So rather than rush my few pages I thought I would wait until I get back. That will be in 2 weeks though, and then I will try and be as fast as possible, make my contribution and then send it on it's way. But until then.

17th October 2003
I sent this book on it's way today, to Katrina77, hopefully it will hurry to your door. I really enjoyed reading the other entries and hope that mine will be of interest to someone else. Thanks again KiwiKat for letting me contribute :)

Well, it's here now.
Arrived yesterday(Monday), but silly me didn't check the mailbox until after I'd gotten off the net (I want broadband!!).

Anyway, in contrast to its contents, my entry is done already.

Will send the book off when I get the details of the next person.

Journal Entry 12 by Skyring from Reid, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Sunday, November 23, 2003
Just this moment opened the mailbox and found the diary. I shall keep it a month and take it with me to New Zealand as I retrace my honeymoon of twenty years ago with a couple of teenagers in the back seat. Lots of short entries from colourful locations.

Pete, hoping to see Milford Sound without the rain

Journal Entry 13 by Skyring from Reid, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Sunday, January 4, 2004
I've sent this along to the next on the list - FuShMuSh - after making a bit of a pig of myself with two weeks' worth of entries and pictures and labels and tickets as I BookCrossed my way through New Zealand. Highlight was getting to meet some of the awesome Christchurch Bookcrossers, leaving a book in the Homer Tunnel, on the inter island ferry, in Waitomo Caverns, under Te Papa, in a gondola at Queenstown, on an ice shelf at the Franz Josef Glacier, near a geyser etc etc.

Had a whale of a time, seeing dolphins and keas and seals and kiwis...

Oh yeah. It was raining and overcast at Milford Sound (as it usually is), but we still had a great time there, spending the night on a boat. I left a book there, too.

Journal Entry 14 by fushmush from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Thursday, January 8, 2004
I received this in yesterday's mail. Thanks Skyring.

I'm off on a roadtrip to Tasmania in a week so the journal will probably come with me. I can write about my exciting adventures in Tassie. Hooray!

Journal Entry 15 by fushmush from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Monday, February 23, 2004
*ooops* I have had this way too long.

Well it's done! I've written a wonderful, spectacular, inspiring, exciting, interesting, fantastic, thought-provoking, amazing entry and i'm ready to pass it on. I'll be giving it to either Bookfrog, Littlemave or Jesse250 tonight at our monthly Cocktails evening. It just depends on who turns up!

mmmmm, cocktails :D.

Journal Entry 16 by Jesse250 from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Wednesday, February 25, 2004
Just got from fushmush on Tuesday, had a read of the entries, they are all so good. can't wait to add my own bit to it.

Sorry for not letting you all know but i had lost the book for a few weeks but am now ready to pass it on at the Meetup on Tuesday

Journal Entry 17 by BookFrog from Albion Park, New South Wales Australia on Friday, May 14, 2004
I got this book from jesse250 at the meetup on Tuesday. Life has been too hectic and haven't been able to journal it til now. Wil try and write in it and send it on its way ASAP to Littlemave. Look like some interesting entries in it.

Journal Entry 18 by BookFrog from Albion Park, New South Wales Australia on Tuesday, June 8, 2004
Had this book a month now and it is back to meetup with it to be handed over to littlemave. IT was fun reading all the entries, seeing the pictures people had included and trying to work out what to put in there myself.

And now it is done. Just a snippet and a sample. so much left out, so much put in ;)

Journal Entry 19 by Littlemave from Weston, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Monday, June 14, 2004
Passed on to me at Meetup by BookFrog - have had my name down on this diary for about a year now, and had pretty much forgotten all about it...
Now I have to think up some witty comments to put in, phew, I have some stiff competition for entries already in there, but I'll give it a good 'noodle dance' and come up with something! [PS who else watches PB & J on the weekends...?]
Thanks KiwiKat for the idea. *g*

Journal Entry 20 by Littlemave from Weston, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Thursday, October 7, 2004
Ummm, sorry guys, have I really had this journal so long?! *blush* I have read all the existing entries, and I have some ideas, so will hopefully get this sorted ASAP (don't you hate it when life takes over...?) all written up and on it's way.
Cheers.
LM.

Journal Entry 21 by Littlemave from Weston, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Saturday, October 30, 2004
What a fantastic read!
I spent an hour writing this morning, after re-reading the other entries, not initially being inspired, but it got better as I went...! I had fun remembering and recounting lots of various BC activities: SSMs, publicity, and a brief history of my reading habits!
Of course I *had* to mention all my new BC friends with apologies to anyone I missed out - I'm sure there's a couple of hundred - well a few more anyhoo.

Have contacted snootchy today, and will send it on once I have heard from her.

Thanks KiwiKat!

Journal Entry 22 by Hawkette from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Saturday, November 13, 2004
Was passed to me during the Australian BookCrossing Conference, aftre many of the previous contributors got to have a look at it's progress. I will do a little wrap up of the Conference weekend, and then figure out who is next!

Journal Entry 23 by Skyring from Reid, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Sunday, November 14, 2004
Just butting in here. It's been a year, almost, since I took the journal with me around New Zealand, a trip that turned into a book quoting heavily from my entries in this journal.

On Saturday at the inaugural Australian Bookcrossing Conference after our Sydney Opera House flashmob, I got to see this dear little book again, as well as read some of the entries that had been made since I had a look at it.

The photograph is from Kuju's gallery, and shows the journal at the trivia night, won by the West Christchurch Cats, which naturally included lytteltonwitch and FutureCat. How they managed to win with so much grog inside them is anybody's guess. Perhaps the mobile phone is a clue.

I especially liked littlemave's description of her introduction to Bookcrossing as a mouseclick that turned into a BANG. What an apt description of the impact Bookcrossing has made on so many lives, my own included.

Perhaps the best part has been getting to meet so very many wonderful warm-hearted funloving people. I treasure every moment in their company.

Good luck, little book, on your travels!

Journal Entry 24 by Hawkette from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Tuesday, November 16, 2004
Thought I would pop the pictures from the conference that I am going to stick into the journal on this journal record too...

This one shows our flashmob! on the steps of the Sydney Oprea House. We all made our way to the steps, placed a book at the top (where fushmush was sitting), and then formed a line down the steps, for our bookrelay! Books were passed down, and the last person in line placed the book on a step and walked away!

Journal Entry 25 by Hawkette from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Tuesday, November 16, 2004
This is the winning team at our trivia night, during the Conference (on the Saturday night of the weekend). The team is tqd, FutureCat, by lytteltonwitch, littlemave, BookFrog (in front), and kirst040.

The NZ contingent have claimed their presence was the winning factor, although the Aussie girls believe they had a fair bit to do with it too, given their track record with trivia evenings!

Journal Entry 26 by Hawkette from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Wednesday, November 17, 2004
Sunday morning brunch was Yum Cha - which was indeed yum! I was a yum cha virgin before this!! Hee hee!

Journal Entry 27 by Hawkette from Sydney CBD, New South Wales Australia on Wednesday, November 17, 2004
Finally, this is the group photo of the Conference. Well, of the people at the flashmob! on Saturday morning (minus kuji, of course, who was the brilliant photographer!!).

(Sorry to all those who just got 4 messages in a row!)

I have PMed jodie-jo-jo, and will send on when I have the address.

Journal Entry 28 by jodie-jo-jo from Darwin, Northern Territory Australia on Tuesday, December 21, 2004

The journal is 'home'. I am going to take the time to read it myself and then decide what to do with it next.
