Roald Dahl’s “Boy – Tales of Childhood” was something I’d read it in German in the dim past and it’s even funnier in English. Vignettes of childhood, seen through his twisted, yet somehow deadpan eyes. I’ve acquired he follow on collection of autobiographical snippets on the strength of this one.

Picked up at the Bury meet. I have a later book of Dahl memoirs so was pleased to find this.

It has taken me years to get around to reading this but there it was, on a day when I didn't want to lug the big book I'm currently reading on a train journey to London. Hence, I finally read this interesting memoir, written for children, and with tales of marvellous holidays in Norway and not so marvellous times at boarding school (1920s & '30s).

I found this on somebody's wishlist and, rather appropriately, it is now off to Norway where Roald Dahl's story starts.

The book has come "home"! I love Roald Dahl's books, and I look forward to reading this one! Thanks, candy-is-dandy!
