I usual don´t like "horror-books" but I couldn´t stop reading this one!

got a feeling i've read this before but i love john saul so will read again . Will post of to next person, in about 2 weeks.
I just received the book in the mail... thanks to Lelley and of course to blacksheeps99... I will start it tonight :-)))

I finished this book within 48hours and it was good fun! I can see that there are a few things that stay not completely solved for me, but nevermind... the story was really fun!!
And now, it's the turn of Leanne345 to read this one :-)

Well, and here it is! Thanks YowlYY for sending it to me, and blacksheeps99 for starting this ring. It's my first John Saul's book, but from the looks of it, i think i'm going to like this...

The affluent little town of Blackstone appears to be under a curse. For decades, the asylum on the hill was town's most notable feature, and almost everyone alive today either had a family member working there or hospitalized. Now, it's being converted into a mall... if it doesn't kill everyone involved in getting rid of it that is... I thought it to be a good book, and once i started reading i had a very hard time putting it down. Still, i found the conclusion of it to be somewhat unsatisfying but that didn't take the fun out of reading this story.

What a gripping book- i was glued to it. Ive never read any of John Sauls books before but im definately going to now!
I just received this book in the mail today and I look forward to reading it. It looks great. I have some bookrings back logged because the last book that I read took me forever to read. I will get to this as quickly as I can and thanks for sharing it.
Okay, I am finally going to start reading this book. I apologize to those of you behind me on the ring, but I am looking forward to reading this one. Thanks to you all for your patience. I have all day tomorrow and Sunday to read, so hopefully I'll get quite a ways into it.
Well, I was not too thrilled with this book. It was okay, but nothing fantasic. It was originally written as a serial, appearing monthly. Each section focuses on a particular "gift" from the Asylum - a doll, a locket, a handkerchief, etc... Each "gift" had quite an affect on the recipients. I had loaned this book to my friend, Jill, but she could not get into it after reading the first 100 pages, so she gave it back to me.
I am waiting to hear from Dr. Brown so that I can pass this book along. I hope the rest of you enjoy it more than I did.

I seem to be the killjoy here; having never read a John Saul book before, I was really expecting much more. I thought the writing was pretty bad. Anyways, I'm going to get this off to ladyofunicorns ASAP. Hope she enjoys it more!
I received this in the mail from DrBrown. I am putting it in my ring/ray tbr pile and as soon as I have read it, I will make another journal entry.
I do like John Saul. But this is not one of his better works. He should stick with the normal sized novels and give up on the serial ones like this. This is actually the first one that I didn't like of his. Hopefully it will be the last. If you haven't read any of John Saul before, don't let this one discourage you from picking up any of his other ones!
