From back cover:

"How does it feel anyway?"
"How does what feel?"
"When you take one of those books?"
At that moment, she chose to keep still. If he wanted an answer, he'd have to come back, and he did. "Well?" he asked, but again, it was the boy who replied, before Liesel could even open her mouth. "It feels good, doesn't it? To steal something back."

I haven't yet had the opportunity to read this book, but I'm appalled at the idea that it's been sitting on the shelf for so long, especially considering it's currently one of the most sought-after books! So the heck with it, I'm organizing a bookring.

Shipping order has not been finalized. I'll need to find a few more participants who are willing to ship internationally prior to sending this book off on its journey. Thank you so much to everyone!

(4-14-09: Edited to remove primary participants list to avoid confusion. The correct shipping order is listed below.)

I think most of you already know how these things work, but just in case, here's how it goes. First, please make a journal entry when you receive the book. Then take your time and enjoy the book. (A month should be more than enough time for everyone.) When you're nearing the end of the book, please send the next person in line a PM to request shipping information. When you've finished the book, please make an entry to let us know what you thought and to let us know you're mailing the book to the next participant. Finally, make release notes and send the book along to the next participant.

If possible, try to reuse the envelope the book arrived in. (Be kind to the earth!) ETA: The book is a little heavier than I estimated...please feel free to use the least expensive method of shipping.

I'll be sending a PM out to the first participant tonight. Happy reading, everyone!

Thank you so much for sharing this book. It is a beautiful touching story about the human spirit and what it can endure. Beautifully writen and leaves lots to pounder. With the economy the way it is I think it is important to remember that we do indeed have it very lucky and truly do not understand loss of this scale, at least I don't (and hopefully never will). Thank you for making me realise how truly blessed I am! I hope that one day when death comes for me, my soul will also sit up straight!

I have the next address and will try to get this off soon.

Every now and then, a book comes along that revives my faith in the kindness of humanity, this is one of those books. Set against the backdrop of one of the most atrocious historical events, we follow the life of an extraordinary girl and her community. Through their lives we are given the opportunity to be truly thankful for all that we have.

Being written from the perspective of death offered the book a unique writing style and the seemingly unbiased and sometimes satirical view of humanity and the characters around Liesel. This book despite it's dark undertones was easy to read and I couldn't put it down.

Thank you to allthesepieces for sharing this book.

Journal Entry 14 by Mozette from Logan City, Queensland Australia on Wednesday, January 27, 2010
I received this book on one of the hottest days this year! And I was on my way to the Logan Art Gallery to do my volunteer work too. So, I'll begin reading it there; then get my nose back into it pages before too long when I get home. I've been waiting for a good book to come along and pull me out of my melancholy state for a bit now. Thank you!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Unfortunately, I've been unable to get my head into this book as much as I'd like. It's not the story of the girl and her obsession with the written word, it's the surroundings and her life that bothers me; it's when it was written. At least I gave it a try and now know I won't read it again. So, this one will go on my unfinished reads pile.

It's being sea mailed to Romania tomorrow morning on my way to volunteer work. Happy travels and I hope the next person enjoys more than I did.
