Caught at the last meeting. When Sterile says, 'It's good, that', I have learned that she is usually right.
Journal Entry 4 by jehanine from Manchester, Greater Manchester United Kingdom on Tuesday, May 4, 2010
There are plenty of novels involving the reminiscences of dying women about their wartime childhood. There are none that I've come across, however, that have prose this punchy and unflinching, that are so original, that have such a strong voice, or that avoid cliche the way this one does. Thanks Sterile for recommending this - I thoroighly enjoyed - well I'm not sure enjoyed is the right word, but I was totally gripped by this powerful book. Thanks you. Might we see you soon?
