Wonderful story - I like this detective.

Maisie's first case is giving me intense deja vu (or deja lu), but this series is sufficiently new that I don't believe I could have read this book and not remember. Perhaps the theme of maimed English soldiers in a country retreat was used in some other mystery.

Nice storytelling. Still feel like the story was familiar, though the book wasn't -- like having seen a TV show based on the novel. Very strange.
