Journal Entry 3 by 300dogs from Jackson, New Jersey USA on Sunday, January 11, 2009
Arrived safely in New Jersey yesterday. Yippee. These bookboxes are fun! There were so many interesting descriptions to choose from. I picked these two:

"a woman walking with a large suitcase"
I chose this book since I am a flight attendant and the book cover describes me every day while at work! The book is The Dive From Clausen's Pier by Ann Packer. Unfortunately, I listened to this already on cd. The audio version had a completely different cover. I am signed up for a few more bookboxes so I will probably trade it for something else.

"a couple hugging"
I chose this because it could have been anything! Romance, non-fiction, a classic, you never know. A true suprise. It was Dedication by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus. I read the Nanny Diaries and enjoyed that so I am looking forward to this one too.

Coincidently, audio version of The Dive From Clausen's Pier was narrated by Scarlett Johansson and she also started in the movie version of the Nanny Diaries!! Kind of funny, huh?

Now to figure out what I will add...

Journal Entry 4 by 300dogs from Jackson, New Jersey USA on Monday, January 12, 2009
After much thought, I am adding these two books:
"Fruit Loops breakfast cereal"
"a yellow feather on a white pillow case"

I already have the address for crrcookie and will mail this bookbox out this afternoon. Thanks princess-peapod, it was fun! Happy New Year everyone!!

Mailing out the New Year's Wrap It Up Bookbox this afternoon!

Journal Entry 6 by crrcookie from Tecumseh, Oklahoma USA on Saturday, January 17, 2009
I got this bookbox in the mail on Friday, January 16th at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C.

I found this tiny little book in the box and figured it must have the instructions and I was right!

I looked at a few of the books and I thought that these were the strangest first lines of any books I had ever seen. After reading the journal entry of this book I am befuddled once more. It seems that we are supposed to describe the cover art? That is different from all of the Wrap It Up Boxes that I have participated in before. I am accustomed to printing the first line of the book on the outside of the wrapping. Nevertheless I am prepared to undertake this little game and I will be looking through my stash of books to see what I can add before I start deciding what I am going to take out.

Journal Entry 7 by crrcookie from Tecumseh, Oklahoma USA on Sunday, January 18, 2009
The books I am taking out are:
"Fruit Loops Breakfast Cereal" which turned out to be The Girl Most Likely.

"A blue fish swimming in a fishbowl with the capitol building" which turned out to be Sammy's Hill.

"A limo on a country road with a street sign" which turned out to be Mean Season.

"Three football players walking onto a field" which turned out to be Friday Night Lights.

It was great fun unwrapping them with the help of two-year-old lilgrovers.

The books I am adding in are:

"An Empty Football Field"
"The face of a teen girl at the center of an orange flower."
"An overhead view of a city."
"A teen boy and a young woman standing underneath a tree losing its leaves."

I hope that they are either enjoyed by those that select them out of the box or passed along in some BookCrossing fashion.

Journal Entry 8 by crrcookie from Tecumseh, Oklahoma USA on Sunday, January 18, 2009
I don't really have the desire to read this little book. However, I must point out my favorite one ...

There is no failure in life other than not trying. If you want something bad enough, make an attempt....A lot of people get scared. They're afraid to fail. Take that word out of your vocabulary. You didn't "fail". You "tried your best".
- Jane Seymour

Jane Seymour is a favorite actress from Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and I enjoyed watching her on Dancing with the Stars.

I have the address for angeeaustin and I will be mailing this box off as soon as the post office re-opens after the holidays and the madness of Inauguration is over and my guests leave.

The box was mailed 26 January 2009.

Journal Entry 9 by angeeaustin from Pearland, Texas USA on Monday, February 2, 2009

I will PM the next person in line, so I can get the box moving again ASAP.

"the purpose of life is a life of purpose."--Robert Byrne
Received in the mail a couple of days ago. Apparently someone couldn't handle choosing something without knowing beforehand what it was, as most of the book wrappers were torn open. :(
My kids loved the books wrapped in colored newspaper comics. That determined some of the choices I made. I threw away some of the wrappings before journalling, I hope I get these all right...
Anyway, I chose:
13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson --a young woamn in a black tank top and jeans
No Mercy by S.E. Chase--a house with one lit window and a womans face
The Winds of Autumn by Janette Oke--A teen boy and a young woman standing underneath a tree losing its leaves
Fast Track by Fern Michaels--the porch of a Southern looking house
Snowfall at Willow Lake by Susan Wiggs (I forget what was written on it but it is a couple ice skating and a snowy house in the background)
H.R.H. by Danielle Steel (a beautiful woman)
And the Rain my Drink by Han Suyin--a couple in a rain forest - she is in a sarong
Diving Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells--one woman leap frogging over another woman
The Idiot Girls' Adventure Club by Laurie Notaro--the bottom half of a girl in a polka dot dress and roller skates on a wooden floor
Dead Air by Bob Larson--an old time radio mike

I added:
A storm, a soldier, and an eagle
A presidential seal
A face with a yellow eye and sharp teeth
A galloping horse
A woman swimming, and a great white shark
An ancient wooden horse
A frazzled woman and an organized woman
A levitating egg, cracking, with green light and fog coming out
A dinosaur skeleton
A bed, Chinese takeout, alarm clock, lamp
A rusted out old car abandoned in the desert

I tried to repair the books that were torn open. Nuttyreader said that some of the books were torn by a damaged box and she tried to repair some. Anyway for the most part they are taped up again with a few little rips and tears, but not big enough to see the title or the cover. ;)
Thanks for including me!
I will PM the next in line and get this moving ASAP

A storm, a soldier and an eagle (Once an Eagle by Anton Myrer) *I have a friend that will probably enjoy this book, I took it out of the box because the wrapping was practically falling off*
A face with a yellow eye and sharp teeth (The Malediction by Julian Claman)*Will be passing this one on as well*
An ancient wooden horse (The Tojo Virus by John D. Randall)
An empty football field (Bleachers by John Grisham)

A Japanese woman in black and white with her hair up and a dress on.

Two thirds of a woman’s face, she has brown eyes and dark lips.

An N.Y.P.D badge, an electronic bank statement and morgue drawers in the background.

***PS - I have PMed flossie twice now and have gotten no response. I am going to give her time over the weekend but if by Sunday night I have not heard anything than I will be contacting the next person in line so that I can get the box moving again on Monday.***

What an interesting mix of books! I love all of the descriptions! I finally made my choices. :-)

I am taking out:

"A bed, Chinese takeout, an alarm clock and a lamp" – I thought this sounded like Women’s fiction. It is Charlie All Night by: Jennifer Crusie - I love Jennifer Crusie and I have read this one, so I will find a good home for it.
"A bridge over water" - I have to admit I am a Simon and Garfunkel fan and this description reminds me of their famous song, so I picked this one. It is Bad Moon Rising by: Katherine Sutcliffe - I think that I have read this one, so I will find a good home for it.
"A couple embracing with a gargoyle overhead, and a castle in the background" – It sounds like a scary book, which I love. It is The Scarletti Curse by: Christine Feehan - I love Christine Feehan and I haven’t read this. Score!
"A house overlooking the ocean" – It sounds like a scary book, which I love. It is Charmed & Enchanted by: Nora Roberts. I adore Nora Roberts! If I already have a copy of this then I will find a good home for it.
"Green witch in a window" – Sounds like a scary book! It is Wicked by: Gregory Maguire. I have always wanted to read this one, so I am excited to have this one!

I am putting into the box:

"Man and woman running with car headlights behind them"
"A purple eye"
"Man and woman kissing each other in the cockpit of an airplane"
"Firefighter running towards a fire"
"Black and white picture collage of men smoking and standing on the street"
"Man and woman with luggage"

Planning to mail this back home to princess-peapod in a couple of days!

yeah a bookbox came back home filled with fun treasures for me!
It has been a rough week so I look forward to going thru this and having fun new reads ; )

so i went thru it and alas I have read many of the books, and some were just not my style. Fear not though your books will travel again soon...I have our local meetup next week and any that I am not reading will make it out into the world for another to enjoy them soon!
Thanks to all for participating...
