Startet gleich mit der Hauspost nach Berlin :)
I've still got to finish a thriller I'm currently reading but I'm confident I'll get around to (starting) this one over the weekend.
In other news, today I was greeted by the woman at the postal counter with "You come here often, don't you? I recognize the name." (In German, obviously.) And here I'd been thinking I didn't get a lot of books lately... (The last one I had to fetch from the post was in July, and I hardly ever bring a letter to the post, preferring the more anonymous mailboxes.) That and they've got several staff members manning up to six counters, but she obviously still recognized me. *still flustered*
Thanks a lot for sending this along!
First off, I'll have to admit that I started reading with really low expectations, for two reasons: First, I'd been spoiling myself a bit on the relationship outcomes (that's foremost what people are writing about) on the internet, and some of what I'd learned sounded rather cheesy, and second, after reading New Moon I was still high on adrenaline and found the teaser chapter of book 3 to be real let-down. Luckily, when I cracked open Eclipse I found myself drawn right in without any such problems. (I guess it pays to wait a bit between reading books of a series.)
Because of my initial reservations it's a bit hard to tell but I think I liked it not quite but almost as much as New Moon. I was half afraid Bella would fall back into her passive damsel-in-distress behaviour now that Edward is back but it appears that Jacob in particular is really bringing out the rebel in her. Another thing that surprised me was that one of my main points of criticism has always been that it remains a bit of mystery to me what originally accounted for Bella and Edward's mutual attraction. However, since the end of New Moon I find I no longer have to suspend disbelief on this issue because the separation and all that followed has changed both of them; they've both matured a lot. Indeed, it appears that in this book everyone is much more ready to compromise and talk about problematic issues, so much even that for large sections of the novel I actually got a sense of peacefulness out of reading it since - despite all those conflicts - the characters were really trying hard. From the pretty cover picture I'd rather have expected the opposite: relationships broken beyond repair. But then, the title doesn't make all that much sense either, though it is, like the cover, exceedingly pretty.
Like rotewoelfin I was really glad to learn about Jasper and Rosalie's backstories. Jasper's fate, in particular, explained so much about the history of Vampires and the difference between the wild and "civilized" (for lack of a better word) ones. Emmett and Alice remain my favourites but all of Bella, Jasper and Edward have moved high up in my esteem and actually pushed Jacob several notches downwards.
My favourite chapter was Time - that was the point I realized I could really sympathise with Bella and also that I was starting to really like the book. :)
All in all, I think I will have to buy this book after all for my personal collection, and the fourth one probably too (and Midnight Sun as well if/when it comes out), but I'll hold out until I've read Breaking Dawn via book ring, if only so I can write extensive notes about what I thought of it. :p
Thanks for sharing with me!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Although I'd received cat-i's address back on Tuesday I only got around to bringing it to the post office today. (I'd really have preferred sending it off earlier but unfortunately the book is much too fat to fit into any letter box.)
Sorry about keeping you waiting, cat-i!
Thanks for sending!
And now, when I've read the first three books, I want read the last one to be encaged of Bella!
I've just started the third volume in German..but I prefer this one :-)
So let the saga continue...
What can I say about this third sequel...hmm..
I guess I didn't like it as much as some of the other readers here.
In the end I couldn't stand all the variations and permanent repetitions why vampires and werewolves cannot be friends. (nonetheless I found it interesting to hear about the reason for that!)..
I liked Jacob in the second sequel better.. now playing all these dirty tricks .. of course he's desperate but in my opinion the author tried to lengthen the book with all these elaborations.. it could have been much shorter!!
Anyway, I still will read the fourth sequel after all I do want to know how it ends :-?
Will give this book to qantaqa this week...
Edit: on to qantaqa today - April, 2nd
The book will continue its journey tomorrow.

und weiter geht's...
I'm looking forward to reading. Just a another ring to finish first and then I'll gladly be entertained by Bella and Edward again!
Nevertheless, I still like Jake, and Alice and Emmet, of course. Enjoyed the backstories to Jasper and Rosalie as well (or was Rosalie in the 4th book?).
Thaks for letting me be part of this ring and I'll send the book on to DA-Cameron ASAP.

Sorry for the long delay, Real Life has been intruding...
25. 7. 2010:
I've read this book some time ago, and I enjoyed it, especially the fact that there were many pages without Bella telling us how beautiful Edward is. ;-) I still don't like Bella, though; she seems to me fairly egoistic.
The most interesting parts of this book are, in my opinion, the background information on vampires and werewolves.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
It's a shame that I've got two more rings before - but maybe I'll read at least "Eclipse" before? Can't wait!!!
Thanks, DA-Cameron - the books made it in time for my summer holidays!
And thanks, rotewoelfin, for the ring!
The story was OK, quite exciting in some parts, too.
I especially liked the werewolf-legends that were told around the campfire and the explanations how some of the other Cullens became "bloodsuckers". That helped to understand them better.
Bluecat07 didn't answer three PMs, so I contacted risibisi.
Thanks, rotewoelfin for this ring!
(I'll keep Nr. 4 for my next holidays - too big for my handbag! ;-) )
edit 28.09.10:
Risibisi doesn't answer too, I sent one last PM this morning and will wait a few days before I contact olagorie.
edit 24.10.10:
No answer so far from Risibisi, will contact olagorie now.

Happy reading!
Sorry, I forgot to journal the book when it arrived.
I hope to be able to read it during the Christmas holidays. Thanks a lot!
I need the next part :-D
I really hope the very dangerous event mentioned on the last page will be described in detail in part 4 *g*
Altogether I think I liked the film about the third part better than the book itself. There were many passages that were simply too long. There isn't very much actually happening in this part :-( And it starts to annoy me a bit to continuously have to read about how selfless Edward is...
But all the same, I enjoyed the story very much. Thanks for sharing it with me!
Bluecat07 isn't active at BC anymore (permanently).
I don't notice anyone behind me on the list - rotewoelfin, do you want to advertise the ring in the forum or should I send it back to you?
