Uhh.. I liked this one as well as the first book or even more. Take some handkerchiefs in reacheable distance at the beginning of the book *g*
SPOILER start (weiße Schrift - also markieren *g*)
At the beginning I thought I maybe won't like the book because it was very much about the mourning of Bella. But as the relationship with Jake got more intense and finally got clear what he is - I liked the idea very much that there are other kind of mystic folks in this world. And at the moment Alice is back, the story gets so much speed that I nearly couldn't give the book out of my hands.
!SPOILER end
So I'm looking forward to read the third one as well - but I think I have to read one or two rings first - and also I'm afraid of finishing the books to fast :D

So, I was very pleasantly surprised by what happens after about 70 pages or so and really enjoyed reading the next few hundred pages. But I have to say: I didn't like the ending AT ALL! The book got worse from the moment Bella starts on her journey and the last few pages were very very very tacky.
Nonetheless, I'm afraid I'm hooked and want to find out how the story continues. I can't wait to read the 3rd book!
EDIT 03/03: Bella and Edward are now on their way to -aoirghe- - enjoy!
Thank you for sending the book and thanks for including me in the ring.
I liked Jacob and his development a lot - I'm looking forward to reading more about him and his new kind of relationship to Bella.
Thanks again for the ring and the book will travel on asap!

May 11, 2009:
I enjoyed this book as much as the first, maybe even more. Jacob is a wonderful character; I like him more than Edward. So is Alice...
Bella, however, appears as egoistic as in the first volume. She seems to use her friends, especially Jacob, for her own well-being only, and spends little (too little) thoughts on their well-being.
Anyway - I look forward to the remaining volumes. :-)

Unfortunately there are two more rings waiting before I get to this, but I'll hurry, as I'd love to know how the story continues...
I liked the description of the friendship best, how Bella got to know (and love - in a "brotherly way") Jacob - unfortunately he wanted more than just "brotherly love".
The motorcycling-lessons sounded like fun!
The events in Italy were quite "interesting", too - but then, back in Forks, I didn't like the way things turned out - of course, there's the obvious kind of "jealousy", which can be already quite a dilemma for a girl; on top of this the two "candidates" belong to two mythical races who traditionally are enemies...
I'm just sorry for Jacob, because I quite like his character - reminded me a bit of the werewolf in Stephen King's "The Talisman" (even though it was a complete different type...) In fact he's the real tragic figure - why can't he be a "normal human"? That would make everything a lot easier!
Well, I'd like to know how the story continues and am looking forward to reading volumes 3 and 4. Thanks everybody for sending it on and thank you, rotewoelfin, for this ring.
Bluecat07 doesn't want to read this book any more, so I've PMd risibisi for her address.
Edit 18.08.09:
Risibisi wants to be skipped as she has too much to read at the moment.

fine-art
Das Buch war im Briefkasten, als ich heute aus dem Osterurlaub zurück kam.
Danke!
Next part, please :-D
I confess, I was a bid scared about reading the second part. although I like the film New Moon, it was so INCREDIBLY depressing, I was really anxious about having to read this.
But in a way, I liked the novel even better than the film. I especially liked the Jakob part.
It is not as exciting, they invented some stuff obviously for the film, dragging a bit sometimes, but still I spent the last few hours entranced, not able to stop reading. I'll be dead tired tomorrow morning at work.
Thanks a lot for sharing this novel with me.
I already got fine-arts adress from last time, so the book will travel soon.

Much more interesting to me is the relationship part. Bella's mourning is really convincing and well described. I also like Jacob a lot - he is such a sympathetic character and his development gives an interesting turn to the story.
Again, the book suffers from a few inconsistencies. Just as an example: In part one I got the impression that Bella can't even walk straight without stumbling, so I was quite surprised to find her hiking in the woods on her own (not to mention her other activities...). But funny enough, those flaws don't really annoy me. The book still appeals to me - and I don't really know why :-) And yes: I'm craving for more!
