4 journalers for this copy...
This is our April Book Club Selection. I just started reading it a couple days ago; will journal again once I'm done reading it.
updated May 11, 20003: Well, although the story did have some interesting bits, and an interesting plot, I'm left with more questions at the end than I had at the beginning. And I just couldn't relate or sympathize (sp?) with the main character.

Dunno what this book was supposed to be. If it was meant to be a mystery, it was illogical and unsatisfying. We barely find out whodunnit and never even get within a mile of why. If it was meant to be a supernatural thriller, it wasn't very thrilling and it's hard to be sure if it was supernatural or not. If it was a journey into the mind of a coke-addicted scumbag -- well, OK, it was successful at that. Very unpleasant, with the most unlikable first-person narrator I've ever had the misfortune to meet. I'll try to remember the author's name so that I can avoid his future output.
Returned it to woodsroy.

I received this in the mail today from woodsroy and it looks very good. I am looking forward to reading it and also finding something good to send her.
I couldn't make any sense out of this book yet I couldn't put it down. I kept thinking it would soon make sense. The writing was beautiful in a stream of consciousness way. I have heard that this might be a movie and I'm thinking that making a screenplay from this book would be a good way to get rid of the unimportant and get to the meat of the story. This won awards too so maybe I'm just not smart enough to understand it. I will probably release this in the wild. {I also appreciate receiving this from a bookcrosser. It's the kind of book I would be willing to buy and then I'd really be upset about not being crazy about it. So thanks to woodsroy for saving me the money and giving me a chance to like or not like it.]
