Received in the "I miss bookboxes" bookbox when I arrived home from vacation yesterday. Great surprise!
A typical romantic thriller, including the usual thirty-something female and forty-something male, both gorgeous blah blah blah, who fall in lust after having incredible unstoppable sex blah blah blah.
The woman is reporter Barrie Travis, an impulsive seeker who too often reports stories before making certain of the facts. The man is a hard-ass western guy with a military background who used to work for the President. The two meet when Barrie tries to find out if the president actually murdered his baby boy.
There is enough of a plot to keep the movement going, even though the romance part is predictable and, to me, not necessary. Just once, I say, can we have a woman who is older, maybe not perfect in size and shape? And the same for the man, of course.
The book is in very poor condition. It appears that the bookcrosser who registered it didn't actually read it, so may not have noticed how fragile it is. It's an older mass-market paperback, and many of its pages came loose as I was reading it. It became so bad that I had to keep a tape dispenser nearby as I read it, and I am seriously considering consigning it to the recycling container, much as I hate to do that to any book.

Because the condition of the original book was not suitable for sharing (the pages are falling out), I replaced the book with a used hardback from better world books, which I received in the mail today. The original is going into the recycling bin. The replacement book is now available.
Taking to bookcrossing meeting. It will be taken by another bookcrosser or put on the zone shelf.
