PLEASE NOTE : THIS A PROOF COPY BOOK **********

Cover:
"Who says you have to love your step-child?

- wouldn't you dislike a precocious five-year-old who corrected your French pronunciation, and who calclated your Body Mass Index when you were halfway through a piece of cheesecake?

- does that make you a 'wicked stepmother'? Even if you feed him dairy products while he's lactose intolerant? Even if you push him (accidentally) into the pond in Central Park?

How far do you have to go before it starts to be right?"

I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed this acutely observed behaviour. The scenarios were well set out and the humour nicely counterpointed the more poignant scenes. If I knew someone at this stage of 'new family' I'd pass it on in an instant as I think it would be a must for women about to embark on the adventure a new stepchild experience is.

Thanks Flutterbies9, as you know this was caught in my luggage until I had easy access to a pc! Then I did return home and forgot to make a journal catch so apologies for that... here though (((YEAH))) is one at last...

The plan had been that I would take this and release it in Orkney in June but eager to read it I held onto it then. However, I am about to nip up to Orkney again WHOOP for the wedding of Donald, a relative, to Sara a soon-to-be-relative. VERY EXCITED to have the opportunity to celebrate with them & of course planning to release the odd book!

I shall pop back to this space in due course to leave a review and ‘release’ details of when and where I left this.

ADDED: ~ Entertaining, though the feeling on finishing was a surprise as I had to keep at it to get into it. The narrator was not a likeable character though through this self-centred trait we come to the nub. There’s a sea-change in her understanding of the child and our understanding of her fears! So that’s all the more of a situation to relish on alteration because this woman was so subtly mean-minded at the start.
