" Jim Nashe`s world is one of chance and circumstance.Heir to a small fortune, he decides to pursue a life of freedom, driving aimlessly across the country. One day he meets Jack Pozzi, a brash young gambler. Fuelling Pozzi`s lust and his own excitement with his last funds, he risks all on the turn of the cards in a match against two sinister poker-loving millionaires.
Nashe and Pozzi lose, and the absurdity of their punishment drives Pozzi to despair, while Nashe welcomes the chance to redeem himself, to find freedom in his fate. But when Pozzi takes up the chance to escape, and fails, Nashe is shattered in his knowledge of the evil around him. And, as his fury grows, revenge becomes the refuge... "

I do love the works of Paul Auster, and this book was no excpetion. What a bunch of strange characters! Especially Stone and Flower - I didn't really know what to make of the couple. At some point I actually thought that they were just inventions of Calvin's. Towards the end of the book I got really hooked as I had to read on to see if Nashe got out of the mess he was in.

Zimort, thanks a lot for sharing the book.
I have an idea of wild releasing it - but I'm not telling where!!!? (But your books have not travelled there as yet!) If you prefer me not to released the book wild, please let me know.
