Enjoy!!
This was a really good thriller. Unless you can guess who "The Poet" is (I didn't) it's not revealed until near the end of the book!
UPDATE:
I got it wrong. It is not a stand alone novel, but it was the first in the series!

Jack McEvoy is a Denver crime reporter with the stickiest assignment of his career. His twin brother, homicide detective Sean McEvoy, was found dead in his car from a self-inflicted bullet wound to the head--an Edgar Allen Poe quote smeared on the windshield. Jack is going to write the story. The problem is that Jack doesn't believe that his brother killed himself, and the more information he uncovers, the more it looks like Sean's death was the work of a serial killer. Jack's research turns up similar cases in cities across the country, and within days, he's sucked into an intense FBI investigation of an Internet pedophile who may also be a cop killer nicknamed the Poet. It's only a matter of time before the Poet kills again, and as Jack and the FBI team struggle to stay ahead of him, the killer moves in, dangerously close.

Really enjoyed this book, good story, well written, could not put it down, although I thought the end was a bit weak. I'm looking forward to the next instalment, The Narrows.

I really enjoyed reading this!
This is actually my first from Michael Connelly. Initially, I really disliked the journalist because I just think that something is not right about his brain. He seemed insensitive and indifferent to me. However, gradually I came to like him. The best part of this book is the TWISTS. Yes, twist with an S! I couldn't have guessed that the ending would turn out that way. He really did a good job in laying out the grounds for the TWISTS. Just when you thought that everything's done, Michael Connelly butts in and turns everything around again! You'll have to read till the very end to find out what happened.
Thank you for including me! I'm glad I joined this!
This book is already on its way to Mallary in France! I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!

I have started the book and hope to have some blocks of time to read this weekend. I will complete and mail to the next person ASAP.
Sorry for the delay - I thought I would have more time to read on my vacation but I actually ended up with less reading time than I normally have
9/9/09 Another update:
I am having a hard time getting into this book. I am going to give myself through the weekend and if I haven't gotten in to it by then will make arrangements to get the book to whiskeyjane.
I am glad I gave myself through the weekend to try and get "in to" the book. I hit a point and now am just flying through it. I read over a hundred pages yesterday.
I have contacted whiskeyjane to see where we can meet to hand off the book. If we can't meet in person I will mail to her over the weekend at the latest.
Thank you for your patience.
Once I got to a certain point, I found myself reading about 100 pages or more in a day and then work got hectic and I spent two days only reading thirty page.
There definitely is a solid foundation to the mystery that Connelly laid out here. His characterization of some characters were thrilling.
Having read the other journal entries now, I felt disassociated from many of the characters but I think that played a part in the plot.
Great book. I have a copy of the Narrows that my brother gave me. I will have to find time to read it soon.
Thanks for including me and thanks for being patient
I have whiskeyjanes phone number and will call her around 9 to see when and where she wants to meet for the handoff
