This book was chosen because it is on the 2009 Reading Olympics list for Bucks County, and Morrisville's Gifted 6-12 students are required to read one Reading Olympics book per month this school year. Our goal is to get the books on the list, journal about them as we read them, have a release party at the end of the school year, and track the journey of our books next school year. We're excited to see where this book goes!

My name is Joe. I was in gifted when I read this book. I think that Death Mountain is an awesome book. I liked how Erin and Mae became such good friends while in the mountains. The things they did and the detailed descriptions about them made me really feel like I was there hiking with them. When they were tired I had to nap incessantly. This is an amazing story to me and I hope you enjoy this book if you decide to read it.

This is Jessica from the Morrisville Middle/Senior High School Gifted Program. Death Mountain, in my opinion, was an exciting and thrilling ride. From sorrow to vile thoughts, this book changed my outlook on the wilderness.

It was about a girl named Erin who hitches with a girl named Mae and her older brother Levi. They go to a camping area in Chicken Spring Lake. Left alone after a terrible mountain storm the two girls are faced with a single task: to survive. Faced with hail storms and climbing mountain sides the two take on a task impossible to most. Will they survive or will Mother Nature trap them in her grasp? You'll just have to read to find out!

I really enjoyed this book. When I was little I played in my grandmother's creek area. I loved my grandparent's creek. I loved sitting between the trees or sitting on the large rock that had the water flow around it. It reminded me of my little 'journeys' and kept a smile on my face. This made me like Death Mountain even more!
