This book was chosen because it is on the 2009 Reading Olympics list for Bucks County, and Morrisville's Gifted 6-12 students are required to read one Reading Olympics book per month this school year. Our goal is to get the books on the list, journal about them as we read them, have a release party at the end of the school year, and track the journey of our books next school year. We're excited to see where this book goes!

Hi I am Nick and I read Heat.It is a good book about $ 12 year old boy named Michael. He loves baseball and is a pitcher for his little league team. He lives in New York with his brother because his dad is dead. They do not want any one to know because then they might be separated and they try to keep it a secret until his brother is 18 in a few months. So read this book if you want to see what happens to Michael and his brother.
I liked this book because it was a good sports book. It was cool because he was a really good pitcher. That is why I loved this book and if you like sports you will to.

Hey this is Kevin. This book is about a talented boy (Michael,the main character)who is an outstanding pitcher on his little league team. This book takes place in the Bronx in New York. Michael came to the U.S. with his brother Carlos and his father from Cuba. Michael's mother died in Cuba when Michael was very little. Michael's father died in a car accident and the only person taking care of Michael is his older brother Carlos. Carlos is still seventeen so he cannot have full custody of Michael yet. Which could be bad if the authorities find out. Meanwhile Michael is the star pitcher on his baseball team. Rival coaches accuse Michael of being over-age so untill he can show his birth certificate to the league, he cannot play. Michael's only birth certificate is in Cuba. Michael and Carlos have no connections in Cuba so they have no way to get the birth certificate. You will have to read this book to find out the rest of it.

I really enjoyed this book mainly because it is about a sport.I would definately recommend this book to anyone that likes baseball.I also enjoyed it because the story line was very good and the ending was great.
