I bought this for kiptrix as a prize in an unofficial contest we ran in the forum. This is one of those books I have heard wonderful things about and never read. I think I need to go out and buy another copy for myself!! I hope kiptrix enjoys this one...

I loved this wonderful story about a poor girl and her family in early 1900s Brooklyn. Such well-developed characters. I'm sorry I waited so long to read it.

I hope someone picks this book up from the box: I just finished reading another copy (and released it immediately, of course) and I have to say that it is definitely one of those books that stick in your mind. Absolutely beautiful.

I am so glad that I read this great American classic. I think I enjoyed reading it more now than I would have in my school days. If you have not read this book, I highly recommend it.
