This book was chosen because it is on the 2009 Reading Olympics list for Bucks County, and Morrisville's Gifted 6-12 students are required to read one Reading Olympics book per month this school year. Our goal is to get the books on the list, journal about them as we read them, have a release party at the end of the school year, and track the journey of our books next school year. We're excited to see where this book goes!

Hi this is Kevin
I really enjoyed this book mainly because I can relate to a lot of things that happen to the main character. This book was also hillarious and I really liked the writing style of Jordan Sonnenblick.
This book is about a normal 8th grade boy that has to go trough a lot of complications every day. Steven's world is turned upside down when his brother gets sick. His grades drop because he worries so much, but meanwhile Steven is noticed by just about everyone in school and everyone notices him now even the hottest girl in his grade. The only thing that calms Steven's nerves is playing the drums. He practices everyday for the concert of his life whre he is going to be one of the stars. I really recommend this book to anyone who thinks they have an annoying little brother including me.

Hi, this is Ella. Drums Girls and Dangerous Pie is now one of my favorite books in the world. It is about a boy who's brother gets cancer. I like this book because it shows that even if siblings can be annoying at times you still love them. When Jefrey gets cancer Steven's world is turned upside down. He stops doing his homework and devotes his whole life to playing with his little brother and playing the drums. Soon his grades get really low and he has to tell his teachers about his brother and he has to make up all the work. Then goes to the hospital with Jeffrey an meets a girl. His friend Alicia who is in the all city jazz band sticks with him through the whole expeirenece. Find out what happens to Jeffery and Steven by reading this book.

Hi, this is Collin. This book is about a boy named Steven who plays in the jazz band and has a crush in the hottest girl in the grade. Steven has an annoying five-year old brother, Jeffrey. When his brother is diagnosed with leukemia, Steven's world flips upside down. Steven has to deal with his brother's illness and his parents trying to keep the family together. I would recommend this book to people who like romantic comedies.
