I used to work at a college that had Ishmael as "required" reading for all incoming students. They gave free copies to all faculty and staff and encouraged us to read it, too, to help create a common community of learners. However, as a parent of two children, I didn't get around to reading this one. Sorry, college! Hopefully someone else can be inspired by this book...
