Amazon Editorial Review:

Claire Randall is leading a double life. She has a husband in one century - and a lover in another...In 1945, Claire Randall is back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon in Scotland. Innocently, she walks through a stone circle in the Highlands, and finds herself in a violent skirmish taking place in 1743. Suddenly, she is a Sassenach, an outlander, in a country torn by war and by clan feuds. A wartime nurse, Claire can deal with the bloody wounds that face her. But it is harder to deal with the knowledge that she is in Jacobite Scotland and the carnage of Culloden is looming. Marooned amid the passion and violence, the superstition, the shifting allegiances and the fervent loyalties, Claire is in danger from Jacobites and Redcoats - and from the shock of her own desire for James Fraser, a gallant and courageous young Scots warrior. Jamie shows her a passion so fierce and a love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire, and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

I remembered seeing this on binkybuffy's wishlist, so I just had to buy it for her today when I found a copy at the market :)

A few people have advised me that this is one of their favourite books ... hope you enjoy it, binkybuffy.

This book I am interested in as I have heard how good Diana Gabaldon books are. My daughter has been telling me about this book for sometime now after she read it from her library. Now I have my own so I will read it and get hooked I suppose.
I will journal it and let you know the results later on after I read it.
Thankyou to ukcanaus for sending me this book and the other in a RABCK in the mail.

Finally read this book after my daughter has been going on about it and I heard from others how good it is. Now I've read it and yes it is good but ....... there is all those ten times as thick books that follow on from this one is what was putting me off.
Yes I will read them one day but I'm not one of these drop everything to read person I just read a bit each night before I go to sleep and it takes ages. Maybe next year after Christmas I will chase the next one up. I wouldn't have read this one if it didn't just happen to fall in my lap. It was sent to me with The Dennison Rose and I have read that too.
Not sure who will get it next but maybe I will send it to someone soon and will journal again when I do.
