In the Time of the Butterflies

I'll warn you up front, this is not a book with a happy ending. It is a good book, though. At first it's a little difficult to keep track of which sister she's talking about and to get the feel for the personalities of each, but overall I think she does a really good job bringing each one to life. The story is loosely based on historical fact about a family of women in the Dominican Republic under the reign of the dictator, Trujillo. I won't say more so as not to give too much away.
It somehow seems fitting that a book about "butterflies" should fly free into the world. I hope it finds many good places to land.
