I have just finished reading this book and I cant decide whether I enjoyed it or not. It has an excellent plot and some fine characters, but the language of this translation is, for me, a little too flowery which made it rather heavy going.
That said, lovers of fine literature will enjoy its use of language, and those interested in dipping into classic russian literature will find this more accessible than most.
