The apprenticeship is over— now the real test has begun.

When word that Yelena is a Soulfinder—able to capture and release souls—spreads like wildfire, people grow uneasy. Already Yelena's unusual abilities and past have set her apart. As the Council debates Yelena's fate, she receives a disturbing message: a plot is rising against her homeland, led by a murderous sorcerer she has defeated before.…

Honor sets Yelena on a path that will test the limits of her skills, and the hope of reuniting with her beloved spurs her onward. Her journey is fraught with allies, enemies, lovers and would-be assassins, each of questionable loyalty. Yelena will have but one chance to prove herself—and save the land she holds dear.

Update 28th of August:
I finally got to read the book, I really didn't expect it to take that long.
I enjoyed reading it but not anywhere near as much as the other two parts. Maybe this comes from being more familiar with the setting now, maybe I was distracted and didn't get it all but to me it seemed much more like a middle-class action movie than a good fantasy novel. i found it much more foreseeable than the last parts which - in my memory - had me guessing much more what was to come.
I am very looking forward to get other impressions now. ;)

The book will travel the 2nd ring in the English-Fantasy-Miniabo :)
(1st: Poison Study, 3rd: Fire Study)

- Since it's going to be an "abo", it would be good if each book would be read in a month (at the most). But even though they look somewhat bigger, it doesn't really take long. If for some reason you need longer, please write a short journal or pm, so I know it's allright.
- Please don't just write that the book arrived an traveled on but also note how you liked it. :)

Otherwise: Have Fun!

Way to travel:

First of all, I would like to apologize for keeping the book for such a long time - I numerously attempted to start the book, but then life (and the holidays!) got in the way!

I certainly aggree with sao-diego that the plot and setting is already a very familiar one, and I also had trouble with the simple style of the language - it seemed off when compared to the other two, earlier books in the series, both of which I enjoyed much more. Yelena remains a "fun" character, but she appears a little inconsistant throughout the trilogy, or at least subject to little explained, striking character developments.

All in all, the series is a enjoyable "rainy Sunday" read, but it didn't appeal to me more than that.

Great! I'm really looking forward reading this book! I think it's going to climb up my MTBR very fast *g*

Finished yesterday evening (instead of sleeping early *g*). I really liked the book - although it was not the pageturner like the first two books, I agree with you. And I missed Ari and Janko in the beginning *g*

But nevertheless, the book is a great finish of a trilogy which is in my eyes worth reading because it is a very different setting compared with other fantasy. And - remarkable beautiful books :)

Going to send it to KillerPueppi today :)

I've got the book months ago and forgot it under several others. I've asked for the next address, and as soon as this arrives, the book can travel on.

I enjoyed the book quite much, only the "super hero" Valek is a bit "over the top". Perhaps not the best book in the trilogy, but really worth reading.

I just have read that the book was not supposed to stay longer than three weeks - sorry again that I kept it so long. Since I managed to read about 3/4 of the book and then completely forget about it I had not too high hopes - and I was right. I enjoyed this part considerably less than the other two. Things just kept happening quickly one after the other without me caring very much about them or the characters.

I already have the next address and will send the book on quickly.

Nach über einem Jahr komme ich einfach nicht mehr in die Geschichte rein, und der Schreibstil der ersten Kapitel gefällt mir auch nicht. Warte auf die nächste Adresse.

Journal Entry 14 by Wibke at Mainz, Rheinland-Pfalz Germany on Tuesday, April 26, 2011
Actually, I quite enjoyed this book. The style the first chapters are written is a bit stiff, true, because the author tried to stuff too much information in about what happened in the first two books. Which was, on the other hand, helpful, since it's been such a long time since I've read those and I had forgotten quite a lot.
I did not get the impression it was more foreseeable than the other two. Once I had begun, I got through the book quite fast.

Will travel on to Annieselan as soon as I hear from her!

Thanks Sao-Diego!
