It is July 1962. Edward and Florence, young innocents married that morning, arrive at a hotel on the Dorset coast. At dinner in their rooms they struggle to suppress their private fears of the wedding night to come...
Nice. Easy to read.
I bought the book on my holiday, because I ran out of books to read. I have meant to buy one off his books before. I read in a interw whith the singer in my favoritt band, that he had to read Ian McEwans books so soon as they came out, so I new what to bay. (They only had ca.10 books in english in the bookshop, so it wasn`t hard to choose.)

When I'm completely honest, I must admit that I was annoyed out of my wits by this book.
The way young couples lived through their engagement and prepared for their wedding day was completely different in the time the book describes. But I was annoyed at both of them for not talking. Well, about futilities and all, they did, but not about what really mattered.
They gave up too quickly, I think.
Apart from that annoyance, I disliked the built of this book. I would have preferred a more straight line, instead of its jumping back and forth.
Edited to correct a typo.
