Wow, thank you so much, crimson-tide, I was expecting 2 books from the OZ VBB but received a whole bunch of books!
Rating: 7.5*
This book was part Bridget Jones and part Ally McBeal - quirky, believable characters and wincingly funny. Not hilarious, but a good little read. It was a good journey and a huge sigh of relief in the end (for Jane and me ;-) ).
I enjoyed this for the most part but towards the end I was becoming a little weary of Jane Goodall’s 'theories'. (I enjoyed poor Jane’s thoughts on men more when they were her private obsession.) Her magazine articles and the made-up persona of Dr Marie Goodall were less plausible for me. Then, I was surprised to realise I was actually only a couple pages off finishing, rather than what the number of pages led me to believe (there’s a chapter from Zigman’s next book at the end). It started to wind up and come together and I was enjoying it more.
