Ishiguro's books are so inviting and hard to put down. As usual for him, the story unfolds in bits and pieces, with big gaps that keep you wondering, and are tied together at the end. This was an unusual story of a man trying to find the parents he had lost in China 20 years before. He puts himself in a dangerous situation, loses his love, and is ultimately disappointed at the battlefront in Nanking.

This looks amazing. Thanks so much for the Theraflu that came along with this. This cold has me knocked out. I will reading this while I recover! :-)
