Far Horizons:: All New Tales From The Greatest Worlds Of Science Fiction

In my youth we would have called this a "sampler"; a collection of short stories by fairly well known authors designed to whet the reader's appetite and spur him/her on to purchase other books by the authors. I suppose this one is that, as well; however, it is something much more than that. Here the editors have seduced the authors into the project by asking each of them to write A BRAND NEW STORY based in the worlds each is est know for. I would have bought this book (and paid full price!) just for Orson Scott Card's story of Ender's first meeting with Jane. And to think, there are 10 more stories in here of just the same import. A sit is, I found this book on the 5-for-a-dollar table at a local used book store. My gain; and now yours. Enjoy!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I really have enjoyed reading this collection of stories. And what an excellent idea: get best-selling Sci-fi/fantasy authors to revisit the worlds they are best known for (Orson Scott Card's Enger's Game universe, Dan Simmons' Hyperion, Frederik Pohl's Heechee, David Brin's Uplift Universe, etc.). Eleven authors, 481 pages ... you do the math. Readable, accessible, but not too lengthy stories from the greatest worlds of science fiction. You will enjoy this, believe me.
Released at the Baylor University Library OBCZ (Moody Library, Garden Level next to Java City).
