I'm sorry, Jane. I tried.
This is the second attempt I have made at reading a Jane Austen book. I think I made it to page 43. The fact is, they bore me to sleep. And I am not that easily bored by books; I have read books such as the Silmarillion and Canterbury Tales from cover to cover and thoroughly enjoyed them. I have never even made it through a Jane Austen movie, despite the lovely costumes, which will usually keep me watching till the end of even a bad film.
