Meet the Vamps of Vamp Modeling, Inc.—
the modeling agency that's taking a big bite out of big-city nightlife.
Olivia, straight-A nerd turned overnight sensation...
I have an I.Q. over 170, so my flat stomach was a bonus. Then I won a modeling contest and hooked up with Vamp Modeling, Inc. Unfortunately, my boyfriend doesn't know exactly how I've changed since becoming a... model.
Veronika, big and beautiful...
I'm your average teenage girl—give or take thirty pounds. And I love every inch of me. So does Vamp Modeling, Inc. They just turned me into their plus-size model, among other things. But this all-blood diet can really get in the way of romance.
Sydney, misunderstood bad girl...
Even after I won that beauty contest, I never got rid of my party behavior. Hey, it's made me a hit on the runway—and in the tabloids. A celebrated mystery girl. They don't know the half of it. There's a perfectly good reason that nights are my thing.
It's time for the undead to live it up...
In the Julie Kenner Story: Olivia is a straight-A student, smart and pretty, but always thought of herself as more of a brain than a beauty queen. But when her best friend and her boyfriend encourage her to enter a modeling contest sponsored by Hipster Chick magazine and Vamp Modeling, Olivia is super surprised to be one of the winners. Liv, as she comes to be known, soon finds out just how Vamp Modeling got its name...
The stories of Veronika by Johanna Edwards, and Sydney by Serena Robar are similar and take place in the same world. All three girls are actually winners in the same contest. The differences in the stories primarily being centered upon the differences in the girls themselves. (A fuller synopsis can be found at the BookCrossing journal page, linked up below.)
I enjoyed these stories, even though they were a bit too "happy ending" for my taste overall. Younger readers will definitely appreciate them, as will other more varied readers of the teen/young adult genre.
Sending to Shaunesay, who won this in the May PUF Swap on BookObsessed. Mailed on 25-Sep-2008 via Media Mail along with 2 other books also won in swaps. :)
