The fifth book in the Felse series, Dominic Felse Investigates.
Herbert Terrell went to spend his annual summer leave climbing on the Continent, and fell off a mountain in Slovakia. Accidental death seems the inevitable verdict - to everybody but Terrell's step-daughter Tossa. Tossa persuades Dominic Felse to help her investigate, and their trip turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Dominic Felse is growing up into a detective. His father does not feature in this exciting tale. It has a few holes in the logic but the story is gripping enough to let that pass. Will now pass it on to someone who has it on her wishlist :-)

Thankyou for my surprise wishlist book.
These really shouldn't be called the Detective Felse series as Dominic plays the lead in most of them & we rarely get to see his father detect. I'm not sure about Dominic's choice of woman, she's foolish & headstrong, & put them all in danger with her investigations - a lot of things could have gone wrong, & they all could have been gaoled or killed.
Enjoyable, despite her name, Tossa (short for Theodosia), and I suppose she'll grow up. I like Dominic in this one - he shows signs of great maturity for his age, and he's not quite as naive as the others.
