Picked this up at the library, I think it's so great that it now has it's own bookcrossing shelf! Am already enjoying this tale of gobby latina women.

Wow, what a disappointment. This started out so promisingly and then descended into worse than the usual chick-lit. 2-dimensional, unsympathetic characters, unrealistic storylines, and a representation of Latina women that really does nothing to help reduce stereotyping. The women either came across as idiots who let men treat them like crap, or materialistic bitches who treat men like crap. The characters' lives all seemed to tie up far too neatly in the course of the book, with everyone getting some kind of predictable happy ending - no different from chick lit aimed at white women, really, and equally irritating. I also failed to believe that the six different women would ever give each other the time of day - the depiction of 'female solidarity' just feels totally false. I wouldn't say I 'read' this properly, rather skimmed big chunks just to see how it turned out. Really below-par stuff.
What a shame! Hope someone else likes it better.
