Steal You Away

1 journaler for this copy...
My cover is different but it's the same book. I bought this for a friend who already had a copy (she's written a book on Ammaniti's second novel, I'm Not Scared).
What a thoroughly engrossing read. Not a single character was a fictional stock-standard - instead, each leaped out from the page, fully-fleshed and full of surprises, even the bit-parts (like the couple driving through Ischiano Scalo). Just when you think you know a person...
Loved Ammaniti's use of interior monologue - I'd thought I was the only one who talked to mysel flike that in my head! Obviously not.
Humane and tender, but also visceral and brutal. Not, at times, a comfortable read. But a thoroughly gripping one... polished it off in just a few nights before bed. Didn't get quite as much sleep as I should have!
I plan to release this sometime soon.
