Journal Entry 5 by Skyring from Reid, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Wednesday, May 6, 2009
I'm not sure how and why I picked this book up. But here it is in Australia. I suspect I won't get time to read it, but that's okay, I know exactly where in America to send it.
A serendipitous catch at the Edinburgh Uncon 2009, when I saw who had first registered the book I HAD to pick it up & started to read it last night. *waves* to Sherlockfan & MrFan.
About the book:
Vicky Bell & her brother Johnny live in New Zealand at the turn of the century. Their father is a local farmer who helps out when a ship belonging to Mr Lindsay, a rich importer who lives near them, is wrecked on the coast. A prize bull escapes & swims to land.
Vicky & Johnny & their friend Carrie, who is Mr Lindsay's daughter, find the bull in an unexplores valley in the bush & trap it, but there are many complications about catching it, not the least of which is that Carrie's governess & Vicky & Johnny's Aunt Clara do not approve of girls taking part in adventure of this kind.
This is a fast moving story with many exciting incidents & interesting characters the will delight children of all ages.
Well this child loved the book & has an idea of where to send it next.
