I found this a challenging book because it detailed such extreme situations, many of which were deeply disturbing and some of which I would have preferred not to know about. I kept reading because it would have seemed cowardly not to continue and was rewarded with some beautiful passages. The book has now been passed to a new member of Bookcrossing - Welcome!
Not read it yet, but intend to.
