Island of the Colorblind, The

The whole discourse on Spam really annoyed me - I almost stopped reading the book. In the first place, anyone who's ever eaten any kind of sausage shouldn't turn their nose up at Spam, and in the second place...should I believe that anyone who eats Spam had cannibal ancestors?! Grr.
And then there was the comment about "You could cross an ocean in a proa like that." Well, that's exactly what they did, so it's not exactly a profound remark.
Oh well. Overall an interesting book, and I learned a lot about Guam that I didn't know.
Here's another copy on my BookCrossing shelf.

Given to a co-worker who travels to Guam on business. Don't know if she'll like the book or hate it.
She decided not to read it, so it's back with me.
Arrived in deep southwest Texas as part of Moody-Blue's Every Color of the Rainbow Bookbox. Thank you for sharing! This bookshelf is in the Chisos Mountains Lodge where there are no phones and no televisions in the guestrooms. Books, therefore, are a popular commodity! This one is sure to be picked up and enjoyed by someone this winter.
