I bought this yesterday in a charity shop. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd noticed it was abridged, but I don't actually think it would benefit from being any longer.
There's a lot of moralising here, not all of which I agree with, not very well hidden behind statements like "this is a fairy tale, so it has no moral".
Still, it was a gripping read, and some of the deliberate silliness was quite amusing.
