The Hobbit
2 journalers for this copy...
A truly great read - a tale of high adventure undertaken by a band of dwarves in search of gold (of course - guarded by a dragon..). A reluctant partner in this perilous quest is Bilbo Boggins, a comfort-loving and unambitious hobbit. Filled with encounters with trolls, goblins, elves and giant spiders, riddles and the discovery of a Ring, this wonderful story also forms a prelude to "Lord of the Rings".
Just got home with the book. Three kind students left it for me at the telephon-booth and waited there. I hope they enjoy the book I gave them (The Beach).
I've read The Hobbit in German years ago, before I read LOTR and the Lost Tales. I've enjoyed it and will again.

Released on Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Karolinen Gymnasium: Phone box in Rosenheim, Rosenheim Germany.
The Hobbit was caught by Tom32 who left a copy of Alex Garland's "The Beach" in return. We are hoping for an eventful journey for both the books (we intend to release "The beach" on a beach in Croatia ;-))

If you bring The Beach to Croatia, I must carry The Hobbit to Italy this summer. I'm sure it will travel a lot there.
