The first modern vampire novel, with a mysterious nobleman as the vampire.
Given out for the first time in 1819 in the April edition of Monthy Magazine as "The Vampyre A Tale by Lord Byron". It quickly became an enormous success and it was almost immediately given out in the form of a book that became a bestseller.
Note that this novel is written by John Polidori and not Lord Byron. The novel was given out under Lord Byrons because of the fact that the publisher of Monthy Magazine meant that it would sell more if the novel was to be given out in Lord Byron's name (Lord Byron was maybe the most of scandalous and successful English poet of his time), than it would if it was to be given out by the unknown Polidori's.
