I just got this in the mail today. I hope to get to it soon.
This was a hard book to read. The story of Nel and Sula's friendship is interesting, but there is a lot of disturbing (to me) imagery in this book. While it made sense to frame their relationship within the entire town, it didn't make me know the characters very well.
I always find Toni Morrison's books tough to read and a little draining emotionally.
