The Witch of Exmoor

My mum donated this book to me for the indulgence evening I'm running in aid of my art degree end of year show. I'm sure she liked it. I hope you do too.
I 'caught' this book at a fund-raising evening at Somerset College for Arts and Technology, although had already heard of the Book Crossing scheme through a friend. I chose this book because of the reputation of the author, none of whose works I had previously read. I was hooked by the opening description of the house I'd like to live in and then reeled in by the characters; I didn't particularly like any of them, but recognised bits of myself in most; mainly, though, it was the quality of the writing which kept me turning the pages. Beautiful prose; Julie Myerson's comment on the front cover says it all.
