Once I started reading this I couldn't put it down. It is so different from the other China Bayles books I've read. I was a bit worried at first when China departed for Jordan's Crossing, but it made a great setting for the book.
I'll be releasing this one on Saturday morning at our meetup at Paneras in Arlington, TX.
Thanks for sending this to me! The more China Bayles books I read, I wish I'd discovered her books earlier!
Happy Reading!

Must have picked this up at a bookclub meeting at some point. Pretty standard for this author.

"Don't ever apologize to an author for buying something in paperback, or taking it out from a library (that's what they're there for. Use your library). Don't apologize to this author for buying books second hand, or getting them from bookcrossing or borrowing a friend's copy. What's important to me is that people read the books and enjoy them, and that, at some point in there, the book was bought by someone. And that people who like things, tell other people. The most important thing is that people read... "

Hi, my name is Amy and I found this book at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin. That was a very clever place to leave it since China hails from the hill country of Texas with its beautiful wildflowers. My father grew up in the Mississippi delta and so I felt a connection to the main character. I live in Salinas, in the central coast area of California and I turned the book loose last Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Haute Enchilada, a restaurant and art gallery, in Moss Landing, CA. A friend from Santa Cruz CA snapped it right up, and hopefully she will make an entry as well. Good luck, little book, you were an entertaining and captivating read!
