What a weird premise. A nine year old boy who is a genius with languages is sent to Japan to teach English to high school students? He ends up living in the same room as two of his students, in a dorm with the rest of the girls in his class.
I get that it's a comedy, but the whole concept just seems gross. In true Akamatsu fashion, the girls spend a lot of time talking about their bodies - specifically, their breasts - and at least one chapter is spent in a bath comparing breast sizes. This seemed bizarre in Love Hina but it seems extra weird now. Do Japanese girls do this, because we certainly don't in America.
I have always liked Akamatsu's art style. His linework is very clean and tight and his characters are always really cute. But his stories are just so exploitative! Everything revolves around panty shots and getting characters into as few clothes as possible. I'm not a teenage boy so I'm just not into it.
