SUNDAY TIMES
'Utterly absorbing and satisfying'
NEW YORK TIMES
'One of the most important novels of the twentieth century...utterly remarkable'
I struggled with this one, probably because I never really warmed to the characters & found her change at the end difficult to fathom.

Hm, I didn't enjoy this novel so much altough for me it improved towards the end. I find Margret Atwood very uneven. A handmaids tale is for example one of the best books I've read and "The robber bride" left me indifferent. Anyway I'm happy to have read this one, thanks for the opportunity.
Now it travels.

Thanks so much for sending this along vilda. I have 4 other rings/rays before this one but as it's so small I may read this one first. Either way it shouldn't take too long. Thanks for including me cally-c xx
Journal Entry 7 by Danielle23 from Sunderland, Tyne and Wear United Kingdom on Monday, June 29, 2009
I thought this book only average and like cally-c I found the characters hard to warm to. I especially didn't like the way David treated Anna and how she put up with it.
The end was more interesting and yet it did not seem to measure up to other works of Margaret twood I have read. Thanks for sharing cally-c, I am waiting froma reply from Drykid and then will post it along ASAP xx
