I did not caugh the book becaue of the cover: absolutely not attractive. But the sticker freebook caught me: I've very good experiences with this fenomenon.
So I began, and gave it a chance....
In the past I've worked as a communitynurse in Salland, in the Carinova Company for community healthcare.I came in the region Haarle, Hellendoorn, Raalte. Nothing special, I thouhgt. Till I read this book, in which the struggles around beliefs are written down. In the beginning of the 19th century there was a real exodus of people because of this struggles. I coulnd not stop reading, the forests and the heather from this region got filled with history, the villages and familynames from Hellendoorn came back in the new setteled American villages, difficult to believe how people made this choice and could survive.
I haven't read the second and third part of the omnibus. I hope the next guest will have as much pleasure as I had with this book.
