You have to love Miss Pamela. Okay, so she's not the world's greatest writer, but does she have to be? The stories in here don't just tell about her life, she captures an entire rock-and-roll era.
Promised to Kafka.
I loved this book. If you haven't read it, do.

Just received this and it looks like a fun read! Thanks SpikesMom!
I began reading this today as I was having a 'relaxing day for myself' which included a self-pedicure. There I was, soaking my feet in a lovely concoction when I shrieked out loud when the author identified herself by her given name as 'Pam Miller'. That was MY maiden name! As she revealed herself in her early diary entries I was laughing so hard. As I figure, she's about 9 years older than I am. Her diary reads just as mine did, except that mine at her age was focused on Davy Jones of the Monkees. She mentions meeting his stand-in, which was just very funny for me. I'm only on about page 42 at the moment but I can put myself at the scenes very easily since I was in the same area at the same time, albeit under my parent's watchful eyes and from the inside of a car cruising by the protests in Hollywood & elsewhere in CA. I have to admire anyone posting pubescent diary entries for public consumption since I don't think there is anything more revealing/embarrasing! I'll post more as I go through the book---just had to connect to say 'thanks'!
I finished reading this today and I've got to say, 'Wow, what an exhausting life!'. It's true Miss Pamela isn't the greatest writer and it got tedious at times reading all of the journal entries filled with such bubbly enthusiasm and then deep angst. She seemed so desperately needy in an emotional sense. I kept hoping for a happy ending for her and, to a degree, I suppose she got one. I wonder what's become of her since the book was published in 1987.
Well, it looks like Miss Pamela is really in the wild this time! The BC'er that I sent the book to received an empty envelope. I hope that whoever finds this little gem will make an entry so we know it's in safe hands.
